A paint sprayer sales guy in Philly made me stop rolling everything

Back in 2017 I was doing a full kitchen cabinet refinish and insisted on hand rolling every single door because I hated cleaning sprayers, you know, the whole masking and flushing routine. This older guy at the Sherwin-Williams on Columbus Blvd watched me buy my third box of foam rollers and just said, 'You're wasting a Saturday and your back, rent the Graco for a day.' I was stubborn but he was right, so I rented it, spent 20 minutes learning the settings, and knocked out all 14 doors plus the drawer fronts in about 2 hours flat. The finish was smoother than anything I'd ever rolled, no brush marks, no orange peel, and the cleanup honestly only took me 25 minutes with warm water and mineral spirits. That one comment pushed me to buy my own small handheld sprayer about 6 months later for $320, and now I only roll when I'm doing a single wall or touching up a spot. Has anyone else had a store clerk or supplier give you a tip that totally flipped your whole process? I'd love to hear if there's an even simpler way to handle the overspray in tight apartment kitchens.
