Drywall guy told me to stop sanding so much, is he right or lazy?
Was finishing a closet in my basement in Tulsa and this contractor walks by, sees me with the pole sander going at it for like 20 minutes on one seam. He goes, 'you're just making dust, mud work hides the sins once you prime it.' I get the whole less is more thing but I've had areas look perfect until paint cures and then every ridge shows up. On the other hand my buddy swears he never sands drywall and just wipes with a damp sponge, says it's faster and cleaner. Anyone else torn between chasing a glass smooth finish and just calling it good enough when the lights are dim? What's your line between obsessing and overworking a joint?
