Just realized my plumber neighbor was right about sharkbite fittings and I owe him $60
He stopped by while I was sweating copper under the kitchen sink in my 1950s ranch and told me to just use a push fitting because I was about to torch a stud. I told him real plumbers solder, then spent 3 hours redoing a joint that leaked anyway. Now I keep 4 sharkbites in the truck. Anybody else converted after swearing they never would?

Watched a guy torch a stud? That is wild. You got lucky the whole wall didn't go up. I've seen old dry wood catch from a stray spark and it moves fast. Three hours on a joint that still leaked is just salt in the wound. Keeping sharkbites in the truck makes sense after that mess.
