My kitchen faucet swap turned into a 3 day job over one stripped nut
Decided to replace the old faucet in my rental unit on Saturday morning, figured it was a 2 hour job max. Got the supply lines off fine but the mounting nut under the sink was so corroded it just spun and rounded off when I put the basin wrench on it. Had to crawl under there with a Dremel and cut the whole thing off, which sent metal shavings everywhere and I nicked a copper pipe in the process. Three trips to Ace Hardware in Fairview later plus a new shutoff valve, I finally had it done Monday night. Anyone got a trick for getting those nuts loose without cutting them, or is that just how it goes with old fixtures?
