The tile guy who measured twice and still got it wrong, but saved me anyway
Last month I hired a local guy in Phoenix to lay porcelain tile in my entryway, and he marked everything out with chalk before mixing a single bag of thin-set. He caught that my door jamb was 1/4 inch off level and actually stopped the whole job to shim the frame instead of just forcing the tile up to it. Has anyone else had a contractor catch an issue that would have turned into a nightmare later, and what did you end up doing to thank them properly?
