Can we talk about guys framing walls before the floor is actually level?
Helped a buddy frame a 12x16 shed in his backyard in Akron last weekend and he had the bottom plate down before we ever checked for level, so the whole wall was out of whack by nearly an inch on one corner. I made him pull the plate back up and shim it, and he acted like I was being picky, but that little gap snowballs once you hang siding and set a door. Do you check level first thing on every build, or do you trust the slab and fix it later?
