I finally figured out why my joints kept opening up on the miter saw
For like 6 months I kept blaming my blade and even dropped $90 on a new one, but the gap was still there every time. Last Saturday my neighbor swung by while I was cutting trim for the hallway and asked why I was bearing down on the handle so hard. Turns out I was pushing the saw head sideways the whole time, which flexed the arm just enough to throw the cut off by a hair. I eased up and let the saw do the work and the joints closed up tight on the first try. How do you all keep your cuts square when you're rushing a long trim run?
