I read that 40% of builders still own a tablesaw from before 1990, and mine is one of them
Saw that stat in a woodworking forum thread and went straight to my shop to check the plate on mine, its a 1987 Craftsman I got for $50 at a yard sale in 2012. Still rips straight, so how many of you are running old iron versus new stuff?

My grandpa's 1972 Ford truck still runs fine and nobody acts like that's a miracle. Same deal with tools, the old stuff was built heavy because it had to be, and people kept fixing it instead of tossing it. The 40% number isn't nostalgia, it's just what happens when something works.
