Shoutout to the 20 year old drill that finally gave up on me last week

My old cordless drill finally died last Tuesday after I dropped it off a 6 foot ladder for the third time. That thing was a hand me down from my dad, probably made back when I was still in diapers. The chuck kept slipping for the last year, but I just kept cranking it tighter. When it smoked out on me mid screw, I had to finish the shelf with a hand screwdriver, which took forever. I ended up grabbing a new brushless model from the hardware store for $80, but it feels wrong not having the old beat up one around. Has anyone else had a tool just quit after years of abuse and felt weird about replacing it?

Oh man, my buddy had this same thing happen with his grandpa's old circular saw. It finally seized up on him mid cut and he kept it on his workbench for months before he could bring himself to toss it.

Man, that's rough @anna717. Three months with a dead saw on my bench before I finally let it go.
