Grandpa's hand plane vs my $30 orbital sander, and why I finally went back to the plane
When I redid my kitchen cabinets back in 2018 I used a palm sander for everything, but it rounded over every edge and I burned through 6 discs on one door. Grandpa's old Stanley No. 4 that I inherited cuts a cleaner edge in two passes, takes maybe 90 seconds to set up, and doesn't need a cord. Anyone else go backwards on tools like this once they got tired of fighting the noise?
