Yeah that's a classic mistake. I've seen it happen on jobs before, it's an expensive mess. Always worth the extra time to check.

Read an article last week about a construction crew that skipped the final site check. They ended up having to redo an entire foundation because the measurements were off by a few inches. Total nightmare and added like three months to the project timeline. That extra hour of checking would have saved them so much money and grief. Really drives the point home.
