Painted my kitchen cabinets 3 years ago, half of them peel and half are solid. Same paint, same weekend.
Did all 14 doors in my kitchen in one weekend back in 2020, same can of paint, same brush, same weather. Fast forward to now and the doors on the south wall near the window are peeling in sheets, while the ones by the fridge look brand new. My guess is it was grease on the ones near the stove that I wiped down with just a damp rag instead of deglosser, and the sun beating on that one wall didn't help either. My buddy swears its because I didn't sand enough between coats, but that wouldn't explain why some doors stuck fine. So who is right here, was it prep or was it the sun and steam doing the damage?
