Stripped a screw hole in my cabinet hinge and a wooden golf tee saved the door
Last month the bottom hinge on my kitchen cabinet ripped right out of the particle board and I was about to buy a whole new door. I shoved a wooden golf tee in the hole with some wood glue, snapped it flush, and the screw bit into it like new. Anyone else got a go to fix for stripped screw holes that is not the toothpick thing?
Doubt that golf tee fix actually holds up long term, glue on particle board is a band aid at best and that door is gonna sag again the second someone slams it. Real fix is drilling it out and gluing in a hardwood dowel, then redrilling the pilot hole. Toothpicks and tees work for a while but you are just putting off the real repair.
