CAD detail library or draw every detail from scratch, which way actually saves time on a 60 sheet set?
Last month I had to turn a 60 sheet commercial set around in 3 weeks and I had to pick between building a detail library from old jobs or just drawing each detail fresh as it came up. I went with the library and it saved me maybe 4 days total, but I spent almost 2 whole days just cleaning up old layers and fixing scale stuff that didn't match. For the drafters who have been doing this longer than me, is building the library worth the upfront mess or do you just redraw and move on?

Ha, yeah cleaning old details always takes longer than you think it will. Still beats drawing every single one fresh though, I would rather fix the mess once and have it for next time.
