DAE deal with folks who think drafting is just doodling?
At a cookout, my buddy heard I'm a drafter and asked me to sketch his tattoo idea on a paper plate. I had to say no, because our work uses rules and scales, not freehand art. It got quiet, and someone joked I was being too serious. That kind of mix-up makes our trade look like a hobby, not a real skill. We gotta stop letting people belittle what we do.

People do that with lots of skilled jobs, sadly.

Tell people to try it themselves before they judge. I mean, drafting looks easy until you have to get the lines perfect. Maybe it's just me, but I've seen so many folks give up after the first try. Idk, showing them the steps helps, like how much planning goes into it. Just keep at it, and they'll see it's not so simple.
