Spent 8 years dimming hatch lines wrong, a CDL inspector caught it last Tuesday

In Cedar Rapids I was always using a 0.5mm lead for my hatch density and wondering why my sections looked muddy. Some old inspector leaned over my board and asked why my 10H hatch was so heavy for a 1:50 detail. He showed me his go-to of 0.3mm lead and lighter hand pressure, only now my gradients actually read clear. Any other drafters got a basic habit that took a random stranger to fix?
