He watched me step the ladder down and said his old captain always kept the swing wide on soft mud, so I tried it on the next cut and my spud line stopped walking. Anyone else change their swing pattern after watching somebody else's boat work?
Had a guy on a dredge in Mobile show me the same thing, keep the swing wide and let the spuds drag instead of fighting them. Took me about a week to stop overcorrecting but my line stays put now.
