Serious question, did the EPA really change the dredge turbidity limit for the Galveston Bay channel projects in 2023?
I was flipping through an old permit packet from a job in Texas City and caught something in the appendix that made me stop. The turbidity standard for the Galveston Bay channel work got tighter by almost 40 percent from where it was in 2019, and nobody on my crew ever heard a word about it. We've been running the same cutterhead settings and same silt curtain layout for the past two seasons, so if the limit actually moved we're either over it or we're lucky. How are you all handling turbidity monitoring on coastal jobs now, are you running your own meters or paying a third party?
