Warning: 3 days wasted on a sand pump impeller that just needed shims
I pulled a pump apart near Baton Rouge because the discharge was sagging bad. I chased motor RPM, checked belts twice, even swapped the whole intake screen before realizing the impeller clearance was off by about 1/8 inch. Three days of fiddling and it was just stack of shims under the housing. Has anyone else lost a full shift over something this basic, or am I the only one who starts with the easy stuff last?

Has anybody else spent way too long on a machine before finding out the fix was literally sitting in a coffee can nearby? I once adjusted a belt tensioner six times on a neighbor's mower before noticing the spring had popped off the bracket. Felt real smart about that one.
