My first corner bead job in Fresno cracked at both outside corners, and I'm starting to think paper tape on corners is overrated
I did a garage patch in Fresno last week and used paper tape on both outside corners like everyone says to, and by the time I packed up, both corners had hairline cracks running down the seam. I know the popular opinion is that paper hides better and lasts longer, but I've had better luck with the mesh stuff on outside corners, even if it takes more mud to feather out. Am I crazy for thinking this, or does anyone else reach for mesh when they know a corner is going to take a beating?
