PSA: a finisher in Albany got me to stop taping my inside corners the way I always did
Was hanging board on a garage job up in Albany when the finisher on the crew asked why I was running my corner tape before the flats. I said I always did it that way and he just shrugged and said "your corners will pop in a year, mine won't." Turns out he was talking about how the tape gets soaked when you flood the flats over it right after, and I went back and looked at a basement job from 8 months ago and sure enough there was a bubble in the corner. Now I do flats first and the corners after and it feels slower but I haven't had a call back since. Has anyone else had a tape guy switch up their order like that or am I late to this?
