My journeyman handed me a torque screwdriver on a Tuesday and I rolled my eyes, now I owe him lunch
I always cranked breaker and receptacle terminals down by feel, same as most guys I came up with in Cleveland. Last Tuesday my journeyman, Ray, made me torque every lug on a 200 amp panel to the spec on the label, and I fought him the whole time. Then we came back 3 weeks later on a callback and found two lugs I had snugged by hand were already loose enough to wiggle. So now I am the annoying guy asking what the spec is, and honestly, has anyone else gotten flack from their crew for actually using a torque driver on small stuff?
