A customer in Dearborn told me my solder joints looked like "shiny little mountains," so I halved my iron time
A guy dropped off a 2019 MacBook with a dead charging port and watched me work, then said my joints were too blobby compared to the factory ones. I started setting my iron to 650F instead of 750F and counting to two on each pad, and my rework has been way cleaner since. Does anyone else keep a little scrap board nearby to test the iron temp before touching a customer's board, or is that just me being paranoid?
