Governor rope snapped on a 12 stop Otis in Braintree and I had to talk two riders down
Car stopped about 4 feet above the 7th floor landing last Tuesday, so I walked them out through the top hatch with a ladder instead of waiting on the fire crew. The rope had a frayed spot right at the hitch that I should have caught on the last PM, and now I check that whole run by hand every time instead of just looking at it. Any of you got a better way to inspect governor ropes without pulling the whole thing?
