Warning: Don't trust the old prints on a 90s Otis Gen2 without checking the sheave grooves first.
Had a call for excessive vibration on a unit in the downtown library. The prints said the sheave grooves were standard, but after three hours of chasing other issues, I finally miked them. They were worn almost 1/16" deeper than spec. Threw on a set of oversize belts as a temp fix and the noise stopped immediately. Anyone else run into mismatched specs on these older models?

Remember that time we found a service manual glued shut with decades of old grease.

Yeah those old prints are basically just suggestions at this point. Always gotta break out the mics first thing, saves so much headache.
