My mentor told me to stop sending follow-ups after 2 tries

He said it looked desperate, so for a year I'd only send one reminder email after my initial pitch. I finally tracked my numbers and saw my reply rate drop by almost 40% compared to when I used a three-email sequence. What's your cutoff point for following up on a cold pitch?

Wow, that data doesn't lie. I'd follow up until they tell me no or my email bounces back.

Five touches is a lot, but what's the actual success rate after that first no like @henryr45 mentioned?

Read a study that said most deals need five touches to close. Your data proves it, so I'd keep following up until you get a clear no. That mentor gave you bad advice.
