Showerthought: I paid $27 for a canned email tool and it either saved me or scammed me
I dropped $27 a month on one of those canned email tools with the fill-in-the-blank follow up templates, and for 3 months straight it got me more replies than anything I typed myself. The catch is I now sound like every other freelancer in my inbox, and one guy replied "this reads like a robot wrote it" which stung. So is it worth sounding generic if it books calls, or should I go back to writing every one by hand?
