Tbh, I stopped writing long intro paragraphs in my client emails and just get straight to the point now. Replies are faster, but my boss says it lacks warmth. What's your move?

Yeah, I was totally on team "just the facts" for emails... thought any extra words were just fluff. But reading what @the_jake said about making people feel seen first, it kinda clicked. My old direct emails got the job done but sometimes felt cold. Now I throw in one line, like "Thanks for sending this over," before the ask. Same speed, but it just... lands better with people.

Saw my friend get the same note from her manager last month. She started adding one nice line at the top, like "Hope you're having a good week," before the quick ask. Boss chilled out immediately and the emails stayed short.

Wait, that actually worked? @lopez.faith that's wild to me that one nice sentence flipped the whole script. My old boss would have seen that as wasting time or being fake nice. It's crazy how just making someone feel seen first, even briefly, changes everything. Guess it proves the ask isn't the problem, it's how you make people feel before you make the ask. Workplace mindsets are so weird sometimes.
