Warning: That polished pitch template made my emails sound fake

I've been using the same email template for pitching for years, and everyone in my circle swears by it. But last month, I sent it to a prospect and got radio silence. When I finally called, they said it felt like a copy-paste job and didn't address their specific needs. Most folks think templates save time and ensure consistency, but I'm starting to believe they do more harm than good. From my experience, when you use a template, you stop thinking about the person on the other end. I lost a potential deal because my email didn't show I cared. Now, I write each pitch from scratch, and my response rate has improved. Maybe it's time we all ditch the templates for first contacts.

Have you heard about my friend's template disaster? He used a pre-written email for a sales pitch, and the prospect replied asking if he even read their website. It was super awkward because the template talked about features they didn't even offer. Now he always writes fresh emails and says it makes a huge difference.

Man that's so rough, did your friend ever fix it? I used a canned reply for a client meeting once and referenced the wrong COMPANY NAME halfway through, my face was bright red. That cold sweat feeling teaches you real fast.
