Update: the one-line invoice blast that got a dead client to pay in 4 days
Had a client in Austin sit on a $3,200 invoice for almost 9 weeks and stop answering emails completely. What finally worked was sending the invoice again as a fresh email with "PAST DUE" in the subject line, the day count right in the body (63 days), and a single line saying work would pause on any new stuff until it cleared. No long angry paragraph, no threats, just the number and the pause. He replied within an hour and the money hit my account 4 days later. Anyone else try the short-and-blunt version instead of a big formal demand letter?
