Wrote off facial massage for 2 yrs, then a $40 add-on changed my mind
I used to roll my eyes at facial massage. Figured it was filler for slow appointment days, something to pad a service when the real work was extractions and peels. Then a regular who comes in every 6 weeks started asking for it as a 15 minute add-on for $40, mostly because her jaw was tight from grinding at night. After the third visit she said her temples stopped aching and she was sleeping better, which I honestly did not believe at first. So I started actually paying attention to what my hands were doing, slow strokes along the jawline, a few minutes on the masseter, and I could feel the knots let go under my fingers. Now I get asked for it maybe 4 or 5 times a week and I keep a jade roller in the freezer for the finish. The thing that sold me was seeing the redness drop in her cheeks right after, not some big pitch. Curious if anyone here has had a skeptic moment like that, or if I am just late to the party on this one.
