Just realized my hoof nippers went from 3 nicks a week to 1 since I started hanging them on a wall hook
A while back I kept my nippers in the bottom of my bag with rasps and clinchers dumped on top. Over maybe 3 months I was touching up the cutting edge constantly, sometimes twice a week, and blades were getting chipped on the corners. Then a guy at the supply shop in Fresno showed me his setup, everything on a pegboard, and I copied it. Since I started hanging them on a hook, I've sharpened once in 6 weeks and the edge stays true way longer. Anyone else notice their cut quality changed just from how they store gear, or am I imagining it?

Doubt it. Steel hitting steel in a bag doesn't dull it, bad use does.
