PSA: Check your keg shoes before you nail them on, got burned twice at the Springdale barn
Had 3 horses to shoe at a barn outside Springdale on a muddy Tuesday and two of the keg shoes in my box had hairline cracks I never caught until they opened up mid-set. One cracked at the toe clip on a gelding's front and I had to pull it, refit, and re-nail while the owner watched the whole thing. Now I run every shoe over a magnet and give it a bend test before it goes in the fire. Any of you all seeing more cracked stock from your supplier lately or is it just my bad luck?
