Bought a $12 thrift store blazer, now I get why everyone loves oversized fits

I grabbed a men's 44L blazer from a Goodwill in Portland last Saturday just for the fabric, but after wearing it unbuttoned over a tank top, the proportions actually made my shoulders look way less boxy. It felt sloppy at first, but the drape and extra length changed how the whole outfit moved when I walked. Has anyone else found that borrowing from the opposite section fixes a fit problem you've been fighting for ages?
