Heard a stranger at a coffee shop say something that stuck with me all week
I was grabbing a latte on Tuesday over on Oak Street and this woman at the next table was talking about how she sketches every single outfit she owns, even the ones she never wears. She said it helps her see what's actually missing in her closet instead of just buying more of the same. I went home and tried it with about 30 of my pieces, just quick line drawings, and now I finally get why my go-to combos all feel so boring. Anyone else ever map out their wardrobe on paper before a big design push?

Tried this a few years back with a full color coded chart, not just sketches, and it was a real wake up call. Turns out I had twelve black cardigans and zero layering pieces that actually worked with them. I ended up drawing little notes next to each item, like what bottoms it pairs with and what I always skip it for. That visual list made me realize I kept buying the same silhouette over and over because I couldn't see the gaps. Now I snap a quick photo on my phone instead of drawing, but the concept is the same. Have you tried grouping yours by color or function to spot the repeats easier?
