Honestly, is it that much slower than any other construction wait? My neighbor's deck took six months to get approved. If a fence adds a couple weeks, that just seems like normal red tape.

Check if your city has pre-approved fence plans online. Submitting one of those can cut weeks off the wait.

@sarah_torres20 that's the whole problem though, it shouldn't be normal. A fence is way simpler than a deck, so comparing wait times misses the point. The system is just broken for basic stuff.
