My sandy soil post trick that finally worked
I used to have posts lean every time in sandy ground, lol. Now I put a simple wood brace until the mix sets, and it's been solid. Hope this helps someone else out.

In my backyard in Arizona, sandy soil is a constant issue. That wood brace idea seems like a quick fix, but it won't last. Wood rots fast in damp ground, even in sand. Once the brace gives way, your post will lean again. I've seen it happen multiple times with neighbors who tried similar tricks. A proper concrete footing is the only real solution for stability.

Totally get where @the_lisa is coming from, concrete IS the right way to go for sure. But man, sometimes you just need that post to stop leaning RIGHT NOW and a wood brace buys you time. Not everyone can pour a footing that same afternoon. It's a TEMPORARY fix, not a forever one, but calling it useless misses why people do it. They know it'll rot, they just need the fence to stand up for a few more months.

Appreciate the wood brace trick. Been there with sandy soil myself, and sometimes you just need a simple fix to buy time. Good to hear it's working for you.
