Old guy at a job site in Topeka asked me why I level every post, then showed me his 40 year old crooked fence

He said his fence still stands fine and called my laser level a toy, but I noticed his gate drooped so bad you could fit a cooler under it, so has anyone else had a customer brag about crooked work like it's a badge of honor?

It's like the whole "if it ain't broke don't fix it" thing, but people forget that crooked work is still broke, it's just broke in a way they got used to. Same with my uncle who brags about his 30 year old water heater that leaks into a bucket, calls it a feature.
