I finally got my first logo design job from a guy at the gym
He saw my water bottle sticker and asked me to make a logo for his new protein powder brand, 'Muscle Muffin'. We met at the smoothie bar and he offered me $50 and a free tub of the powder. I was so nervous I just said yes without thinking. Has anyone else taken a weird trade for their first gig?

Honestly that's a classic first client story right there. Tbh my first paid design was for a friend's band and I got a t-shirt and two drink tickets. Sometimes the weird trades are the most memorable part of starting out.

My first freelance check was for $75 to fix a neighbor's website. I framed it. @gracej99 is right, the weird trades stick with you. I did a flyer once for a guy who owned a food truck and he paid me in pulled pork sandwiches for a month. Honestly, that was better than cash. You ever eat a logo?
