I compared a local mortgage broker to my bank after 3 rejections and the difference was night and day
Spent 6 weeks going back and forth with my big bank in Columbus. They kept asking for more paperwork, then denied me over some tiny credit issue from 4 years ago. My realtor finally said try a local broker she works with. He got me approved in 5 days with a better rate and actually explained what the underwriter was looking for. The bank never once told me why I was getting denied. Is this normal or did I just get unlucky with my bank?
