The church gym floor in Dayton taught me to never trust a moisture meter alone

We had to tear out 2,000 square feet of vinyl that was bubbling after only 8 months, and the meter in my truck said the slab was dry, but the actual calcium chloride test showed 14 pounds, so has anyone else had a slab that fooled the meter but the real test caught it?

My friend had a basement slab in Kettering that showed bone dry on the meter, but the moisture test came back at 11 pounds and they had to rip out everything twice. He now tells everyone the meter is just a guess and the real test is the only truth.
