Hot take: don't buy the $80 floral cooler thermometer kit from the trade show booth
I grabbed one of those wireless cooler thermometer kits at the Chicago gift show back in March, paid $80 for it, and the probe drifted 4 degrees high within two weeks. I didn't catch it until a bride's white ranunculus went brown on me and I had to eat $220 in replacement stems plus the delivery run. A $12 kitchen fridge thermometer from Target is holding within half a degree and I check it against a glass of ice water every Sunday. If you're using one of those booth kits, please go compare it to a real reading this week. What are you all using to track cooler temps, and has anyone found one that stays honest past a season?
Bought a cheap hygrometer for my basement grow shelf last year and it read 12% low for a month before I noticed my seedlings were basically drying out. Calibrated it with the salt test and it was way off, same deal as your probe. Now I just do the ice water check like you, takes two minutes and saves the guesswork.
