Our old sand reclaimer gave up the ghost on Tuesday
The motor seized during a pour for a 500-pound gear blank, and we had to shovel by hand to finish the batch. Has anyone else had a reclaimer fail mid-job, and what's your backup plan?

That "shovel by hand" part brings back some sore memories. We had our big reclaimer belt snap right as we were ramping up for a long run of cores. Our backup was always to keep a couple of old, small rotary screen reclaimers in the back corner. They're slow, but you can wheel one over and at least keep some reclaimed sand coming in. It's not perfect, but it beats a full stop until the new parts come in.

Honestly @viola_garcia56, that backup plan sounds smarter than our old shop just crossing its fingers.

Our old shop in Toledo just ran the main line until it broke... then we waited. @viola_garcia56, was the backup really worth the floor space for something that happened maybe once a year?
