PSA: Stop calling late payment fees a dealbreaker in freelance contracts
I keep seeing people on here say you absolutely need a late fee clause or you'll get burned. But I've been running my plumbing crew for 3 years now and I never put late fees in my contracts. Last month a client in Denver paid me 2 weeks late but threw in a $500 bonus because I was chill about it. Has anyone else found that being flexible builds better loyalty than having strict penalties?

A $500 bonus for paying 2 weeks late? That's wild, man. I've never seen anyone get rewarded for being slow with money.

Saw some news article saying this is a new trend to keep customers.

Hang on, are we really acting like this is some huge scandal... It's probably just some obscure promo with a ton of fine print nobody read. Feels like people are making a mountain out of a molehill honestly.
