Appreciation post: My new accounting software cost $300 a year but it saved my sanity
I kept putting off getting proper bookkeeping software for my freelance work, thinking I could just use a spreadsheet. It was a mess. I missed a tax payment last quarter because I mixed up two client invoices and thought I had more money than I did. The penalty was almost $200. After that, I bit the bullet and signed up for the software. It links to my bank account and sorts everything automatically. Now I can see exactly what I've made, what I owe, and what my expenses are in real time. It took a full weekend to set up and learn, but it was worth it. Has anyone else found a tool that finally got their money organized?

My friend's bakery finally got a point-of-sale system and she cried from relief on day one.

That relief is so real. I watched my cousin switch from a cash box to a simple card reader and it was like a weight lifted off her shoulders.

Read an article about a guy who tracked his coffee spending for a year... it was over two grand. He got one of those budgeting apps after that.
