inA client in Tacoma told me my stump grinding was too shallow
That half-moon tool is a game changer. Took me way too long to figure that out too.

inTried using cool water for extractions instead of steam
Funny enough the temp matters less than the pH of the water sometimes. I had this old stain on a shirt and cool tap water did nothing but when I tried cool distilled water it came right out. Hard water has minerals that lock stuff in place before you even get a chance to scrub. Might be worth checking if your water's super hard before blaming the temperature.

inTried a $12 paddle brush vs my $45 one - big difference in frizz control
Have you noticed the bristle spacing makes a bigger difference than people give it credit for? In my experience, the cheap brushes always seem to have bristles that are too far apart or too soft to really grab those baby hairs by the scalp. My Wet Brush Pro has the bristles packed tighter and they're stiffer but still flexible, which seems to do the trick for taming flyaways on the crown without tugging. Might be worth checking the bristle density next time you're comparing brushes, it's been a game changer for me personally though your mileage may vary.

inOld florist told me to stop using floral foam and I fought her for weeks
You fought her for weeks? Man, I once argued with a mechanic about tire pressure for a whole month before I finally caved and checked them. He was right, my gas mileage went up 10%. Anyway, that Betty sounds like a real gem. I still use the cheap green foam sometimes when I'm in a hurry and my flowers look like they've been through a hurricane. But that method she showed you with the pebbles, I gotta admit, it sounds way smarter than what I'm doing. Hydrangeas are the divas of the flower world, so lasting five days longer is a huge win. I guess I just hate admitting I was wrong, even when the evidence is staring me right in the face.

inHit tree number 500 in my career last Tuesday... didn't even realize till I checked my log
lol @lucashenderson the "all ten fingers" part got me. That's honestly the biggest flex in this whole post. I've been around enough old-timers with missing digits to know that 500 trees is no joke. You must have some serious chainsaw control and a whole lot of patience. Most people I know would have at least one close call halfway through that many cuts. Good on you for keeping your hands safe while getting the work done.
