Client told me my headings were 'keyword stuffed' and it stung

Had a long-time client review my draft last month. She flat out said my H2s read like a robot wrote them. 'You're not writing for Google, you're writing for my customers.' So I rewrote all the headings to be useful statements instead of keyword lists. Traffic actually went up 12% the next month. Anyone else had a client call them out on something basic like that?

Not writing for Google, writing for my customers" yeah that one hit close to home. I once had a client look at my meta descriptions and say "did you just copy-paste every keyword you could think of" and honestly they were right. Its wild how hard it is to shake the SEO robot mentality even when you know better.

Huh, I actually see it a bit different. Good SEO writing should blend both. If you ignore search intent entirely, you're basically shouting into the void no matter how well you write. I've tested this myself - wrote two versions of the same product page, one customer focused and one that matched search patterns better. The hybrid version outperformed both by a lot. Why not aim for both instead of treating it like a choice?
