Update: I stopped chasing every single lead and my income actually went up
Everyone says you need to grab every opportunity, but I found that being picky with clients saved me time and stress. Now I focus on projects that fit my skills better, lol.

Realized being picky makes you look more expert too. Clients see you're not desperate and take your rates more seriously. Turns your time into its own marketing.

Last summer, I met a chef who only uses local ingredients from three farms. He turns down suppliers all the time, even when they offer cheaper options. His menu is small, but every dish gets rave reviews. People book weeks in advance because they know he's picky. It's like his selectivity became his brand. Do you think that kind of rep works outside food?

My plumber does this with his "emergency only" weekend policy. He overcharged me so much for a clogged drain that I just learned to fix things myself. His picky brand totally backfired.
