I picked the left elevator at the hospital yesterday and it skipped the 4th floor entirely, going straight from 3 to 5.

Has anyone else had a building just delete a floor for a single trip?

I used to assume it was just a weird glitch when that happened. Seeing it skip a whole number makes it feel intentional, like the floor is actually gone. Makes you wonder what's really up with those empty elevator shafts lol.

My old office building skipped from 12 to 14. The maintenance guy swore it was just a numbering thing, but he always got real quiet when you asked to see the blueprints. I'm convinced there's a whole forgotten floor up there full of dusty chairs and old coffee mugs. Maybe they're hiding the building's shame, like a bad plumbing job they just walled off.
