Appreciation post: Learned a cool waterfall braid from a mom at the playground
I was at the park with my kids yesterday, just watching them play. This mom next to me had a great braid in her daughter's hair, a waterfall braid that looked so smooth. I had to ask her about it. She was super nice and showed me how she does it, using just three sections and dropping one strand each time. I've tried waterfall braids before but always messed up the flow. Her way made it click for me, and we spent like ten minutes chatting about hair. It's funny how you can learn something new from a total stranger. Has anyone else picked up a tip from an unexpected place like that?

Seriously, best hair advice came from a stranger at a bus stop.

Honestly that bus stop stranger thing is so real. A barista once told me to stop using hot water on my highlights and my hair has thanked me ever since.

My dentist of all people told me I was using the wrong shampoo for my gray hair. I felt pretty silly after years of buying expensive stuff that was making it look dull. Strangers have no filter, and that can be a good thing.

Oh totally... a woman at the grocery store once told me to stop brushing my curly hair when it's dry. Changed everything for me. I was just wrecking my curls without even knowing. Sometimes you just need that outside look from someone who has nothing to lose by being honest. Best tip I ever got.
